Ijazah of Shaykha Amatullah bint Shaykh Abd al-Ghani al-Dihlawi

Salam

The name of Shaykha Amatullah daughter of the great Shaykh Abd al-Ghani al-Dihlawi appears amongst the names of the teachers of the Shaykh Muhammad Yasin al-Fadani. Whilst trying to find further information regarding her I came across the following brief ijazah which I assume is in her handwriting. The translation of it [scan of the ijazah above] is as follows:

“In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, Most Kind

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, Salutations and blessings be upon the most noblest of Messengers, our Master Muhammad, his family and companions in totality.

To proceed: Our brother in Allah, the virtuous Shaykh, Sulayman the son of Shaykh Abd al-Rahman son of Muhammad al-Sani’ requested from me that I grant license to transmit that which I was licensed to transmit by my father, the deceased, Shaykh Abd al-Ghani al-Mujaddidi al-Dihlawi, from the books of hadith, specifically that which is contained in “Al-Yani’ al-Janni from the chains of transmission of Shaykh Abd al-Ghani”, and other than them from the sacred sciences.

So I authorise him in all of these (chains of transmission) from that which is in accordance with the books of the sunnah and pious predecessors. I also ask him to not forget me in his pious supplications from the heart, in private and in public.

O Allah, send Your blessings and peace upon the Master of the children of Adam, Muhammad, his family and companions.

The one needy of the forgiveness of her Lord.

Amatullah daughter of the deceased Shaykh Abd al-Ghani.

Written in the beginning of Shaban 1354 (Hijri)”
